Handheld

2) used to refer to Handheld PCs specifically, which are
larger than palm-sized PCs and use Windows(r)
CE.

This company makes hardware geared toward the education
and consumer market.
Hard Keyboard
- Physical
keyboard that is controlled by the users fingers as
opposed to the stylus like that of a desktop
computer.
Hot Keys -
Buttons at the
bottom of most PDA’s that can be set and used to go
directly to a specific function without navigating the
Operating System. For instance, hot keys can be set to
go straight to your calendar, date book, or phone
numbers.
HotSync(r)
The process and
software by which data is synchronized between a Palm
OS(r) device and another computer to send and retrieve
information (i.e., Contact Information).
HPC
- Handheld PC
a Windows CE based device with a clamshell case and
built in Keyboard.
HTML
HyperText Markup
Language. The language used to format web
pages.
iMessenger(r)
Application for
sending and receiving Internet messages wirelessly
(included on Palm(tm) VII model only).
Internet
Computers linked
through a worldwide public network.
Intranet
Computers linked
through a network, usually within a single company's
premises.
LCD Screen -
Liquid Crystal
Display, the type of screen PDA’s use.
Mac(r) OS
Apple's Macintosh(r)
operating system.
Memopad
A popular native
application on Palm OS(r) devices that allows you to jot
down or type in notes on your handheld.
Memory Cards -
A computer
card that can be inserted into the back of a PDA to
provide more memory to store information on. A memory
card would often be used to store bigger programs and
extra functions.
MMC – Multimedia
Card is a memory expansion that is smaller than a CF
card but the same size as SD card.
